In 2001, I started my first serious attempt at a website. It was a hub site for web and graphic designers to get together and chat, find good design links in the days before social media. I built the site by hand, learning code along the way to make things easier for myself.

During this time, I found that I really enjoyed the diversity of roles that this brought. Creating relevant and targeted content that benefited SEO, reaching new audiences, crafting a consistent user experience with development and design, and generating long-term interest in the website with email marketing and community management.

It was hard, consistent work over time that helped build the community and website over a period of 3 years, and I loved every minute of it.

For the last 11 years I have been a co-owner and director of Brown Box. In this time, I have worked with international brands, direct marketing agencies, not for profits, and small business on a large range of projects and briefs.

I have a detailed and working knowledge of digital marketing principles as well as general marketing principles, allowing me to develop and implement digital strategies that provide direct return on investment for the organisations I have worked with.

I love getting my hands dirty – doing all types of work including business development, client and relationship management, sales, web strategy, graphic/web design, digital marketing, email marketing, internal staff management, and speaking at related events.

In 2014, I saw that there was room in the direct marketing space for a dedicated email marketing agency, and so began Clicky Email Studio. A company dedicated to bringing out the most in the opportunity that email has consistently produced for the last 44 years.

I am and active participant in both the web, and nonprofit industries, speaking at conferences and training events. I provide leadership through involvement in ongoing industry conversations.
